Kalaba and Others join FAWUZ

The other national team players were Chongo Kabaso, Given Singuluma and Nathan Sinkala.

The inspirational Zambian Captain nicked by  his colleagues as “ Master” because his wizardly on the field, said the Union is long overdue and he will implore all the national team players and other players to join the union as it is the footballers’ best interests.

“It was  a pity that it has taken a while for us to join because of time constraints. We will support the union  and ensure that it is successful and contribute to the development of Zambian football”,  Kalaba said. “The Union is the last piece  that has been missing to motivate Zambian players to reach their potential and also ensure that they are secure after their playing careers,”  He added.

The General Secretary of FAWUZ, Linos Chalwe thanked Kalaba of being an active member support and encouraging the other players to join the union.

“ As you know gentlemen, I am a former national team player and you may be stars today and once your career is over the fans and everybody will have nothing to do with you  and  you will be lonely. The Union will always have you back.”, he said while addressing the national team players from TP Mazembe. “My exposure of playing abroad and being a member of the union made me  realize the importance of a Union during a player’s playing career and after because they helped me a  great deal,”  he emphasized.
