Who are we ?

The aim of  FAWUZ  is to protect, improve and negotiate the conditions, rights and status of players and allied workers. Zambia joins other nations in SADC such as South Africa,Botswana,Zimbabwe and Namibia to form a soccer players union. These unions have been formed across Africa and throughout the world.

Zambia formed the first and only footballers union, the Footballers and Allied Workers Union of Zambia(FAWUZ) on 10th February,2016. The union is located at Plot No. 03 Off Twin Palm Road, Ibex Hill. Lusaka, Zambia.

Zambia is one of the top footballing nations in Africa. It has been ranked number one in Africa  at one time and it has also won the Africa cup of nations once and reached the finals two times in 1974 and 1994.  However, the country has not had any  football Union to take care of the players interest.

The aim of  FAWUZ  is to protect, improve and negotiate the conditions, rights and status of players and allied workers. Zambia becomes the  tenth (10) country in Africa to have a footballers union and only the fourth (4)  in the SADC region.

The Union got membership to the International Federation of professional Footballers(FIFPRO) - Division Africa which is the mother body of all footballers union in the World.
